Re: NO DOUBT - PUSH AND SHOVE THREAD
I want someone to ask her WHY she looks back so negatively on that period. She did amazing, she released killer music. Is she mad she didn't "go and get herself another Grammy?" LOL

OMG How infuriating. $175 with 3 bonus exclusive tracks you can find only on it which are REMIXES. Are they taking the piss or what????
A few cards and some speakers that only play the album. It would want to be hand signed by the band for me to even consider it. I spent $120 on Lady GaGa's box set and got a lot more in it.

LOL!!!!!!!!!! I like the speakers thing, but really... the lack of bonus tracks is ridiculous. At least two. Come on.

Settle Down still hasn't been released here on iTunes and the album is out Friday. Same with the UK except it is out Monday there...
Their management have messed this album launch up big time.

Re: NO DOUBT - PUSH AND SHOVE THREAD
I got the CD today but haven't listened to it yet with the building work going on next door from 8am to 9pm EVERY DAY
Anyway there was 3 versions here - standard, deluxe (walmart edition in the US) and a book version.
I got the book version. It includes the deluxe version and a 68 page book about the making of the album, the tour they did, old pictures from when they started out, lyrics, thank you notes (I can't make Gwen's out at all!). It also comes in a DVD sized case. It was twice the price of the deluxe edition but it was too cool not to get as a collector.
O/T when I was looking around for it, the shop was playing Carley Rae Jepson's album and there was some decent catchy songs on it lol. Might wait for it to go down in price.
Plus I heard Nicole Scherzinger - Poison in three DIFFERENT SHOPS at DIFFERENT TIMES and they weren't music shops. I was thinking "wtf is going on with the world?"

Mixed bag of an album on first listen. The first 4 songs are brilliant but the rest of the album sounds like a different project altogether. It sounds more Gwen Stefani than No Doubt. Every so often you get an injection of trumpets or a dash of reggae to remind you that this is a ND record. Very good album. Just doesn't feel like No Doubt.
Not bad by any stretch of the imagination but not what you would expect after Settle Down and Push and Shove. Don't expect floor stompers outside the first 2 singles because the rest of mid-tempo to ballads (think Cool, Early Winter, 4 in the Morning).
I find it funny how Gwen Stefani is talking down about her solo albums like this new No Doubt album is the hot shit. It is so similar to her solo stuff except she switched the Harajuku Girls with Adrian, Tony and Tom!
