Favorite Shakira album by far.

Her past albums have been very patchy. Not with this album. I enjoyed the entire thing.

I was just thinking.. they did one hell of a good job at keeping "Dare" from leaking. I remember they shot a music video for it almost two years ago and it never got released, you would've thought in all this time the song would have leaked at some point… but it never did. Which is good, because the song is great! If it had leaked, it would probably not have been included in the album.

At No. 2 on the latest Billboard 200 is Shakira with her own self-titled set, starting with 84,000 sold. It’s her highest-charting album ever, surpassing the No. 3 peak of 2001's "Laundry Service." On the other hand, "Shakira" notches her lowest sales start of all her English-language studio albums. It dips below the bow of 2009's "She Wolf," which launched at No. 15 with 89,000 in the thick of the Christmas shopping season.

I don't think it's fair to compare a 84,000 start in March 2014 to a 89,000 start in November 2009. If we translated what the sales from the first quarter of 2014 are to the sales of the fourth quarter five years ago, this number would probably be over 150,000.
