I honestly think what has happened to her is tragic. I honestly thought she was building up a nice discography and while Red was iffy in parts it had some decent songs. But this screams TBTD. A career in regression.

What happens now much like Avril is that just will have a nice jolt worldwide based on name recognition and there will probably by another more generic catchy single. The album opens respectably but the starting fans begin to walk away. Next album she tries to go back (GL) but the old and new fans don't care and then she gets trapped in trying to find a medium to please both (AL).

this is not entirely pop it has weirdness and jazz to it

Max obvs tried to do what he did with Ariana here
her being the biggest pop singer right now he tried to recreate the formula of 'Problem'...

didn't quite make it tho
also this song is supposed to go against 'break free' .... very bad idea

^I don't think it will flop. I think the album will sell less than her previous albums but the singles will do well. It isn't as commercial as I thought it would be but I bet there will be more commercial songs on there.

She says this is her first "pop" album.

I just think the video is awful, the song is just flat and the lyrics are so cringe worthy - "haters gonna hate" - seriously. Is this the same girl we all fell in love with just a few years ago? I don't think so? Was she ever really "country" or was this the plan all along - many say this about Avril that the tomboy punk look was all an act.

Why can't these big name artists come back with a decent song and video. Really is it too much to ask? 5% seem able to do it.

Everyone fell in love with Taylor because she was doing something different - not just music wise with country, but she wasn't going around acting trashy, she was writing songs people related to on some level and the whole world took her part after the Kanye incident. But that seems like decades ago now. Different girl. All an act. Very calculated move. She eased into it slowly instead of jumping head first.

Just 1 nomination this year at the CMAs - in female vocalist. They need to send a further message and ensure she doesn't win this. I feel she has disrespected country music and the fans of her country music.
