Re: Female US Sales
I removed GaGa. She should be around 700k but the album is barely in the Top 200 so it is impossible to get updates at this stage. Kelly Clarkson was removed also FYI with an impressive 770k sold over a 10 week period for a Christmas album.
Lorde still selling nicely. First post updated. Shakira added too.

Re: Female US Sales
Update. Lorde still holding up nicely. The lowest it has fallen since it charted is 32.
Mariah and Jennifer's numbers are abysmal. Mariah out of Top 100 with Jennifer set to follow suit.
Beyonce also just about hanging in the top 100. She got a small bump of the elevator incident. 75% of her 2million sales were in the first 5 weeks. It doesn't help they didn't properly push the hits singles - XO, Pretty Hurts, Mine etc. I guess with all the videos readily available she wasn't even able to create buzz around videos and the only TV performance was the Grammys. Perhaps iTunes is great in the short term.

I did but now I am not so sure. Maybe with a re-release.Gabe wrote:You think Katy will outsell Teenage Dream?
Lorde back into the Top 20. Mariah plummets to 174.
Re: Female US Sales
Lorde sneaking up on Katy. Remarkable considering her last full on single was Team at the start of the year.
Next update will have Ariana and the VMA numbers.
Removing Shakira, Mariah and Jennifer Lopez in next update. No longer in Top 200. I am going to make a post with artists no longer being updated. I am going to keep this rolling forward as I enjoy updating it.
Re: Female US Sales
Mariah's numbers are painful.

Re: Female US Sales
Soft debut for Ariana considering she has 3 songs in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 just 2 weeks ago. Lot of money being spent to push this girl but the numbers don't lie = singles artist.
Beyonce got a nice bump with that 1 hour VMA performance.
Katy falls to 61. The lowest it has been at since it charted.
Re: Female US Sales
Update. Wonder if Lorde had at least one more radio friendly single would she be ahead of Katy Perry. Considering the amount of hits on Prism it should be over 2 million at this stage if it had been executed properly that is.
Re: Female US Sales
Update.
-Katy takes a nasty tumble from 25 to 67
-Lorde will be on the chart 52 weeks next week
-Iggy still holding up. The re-release will push it gold I suspect
-Ariana's sales are pathetic after 4 weeks. She is nearly out of the Top 20 and her album is now free on Google Play
-Removing Miley next week. Has left the Top 200 a while now. So much buzz and it just about went platinum. Lorde without any gimmicks - just raw talent slayed it in the long run. As it should be.
