So I was just reading that Rihanna's album was certified Platinum in the US already based on free downloads and streaming.

Anyone else think that awarding songs and albums- gold, platinum, diamond etc - based streaming has completely ruined and diminished the the honour of receiving this awards? Anyone can do it now. Like imagine this system was around when Rebecca Black was about? She would have been number 1 for weeks with a Diamond single.

I read Samsung BOUGHT a million copies of the album so they could give them away for free... so following its release, it was automatically certified Platinum.

it must be so much funner to be an artist nowadays that you are allowed to cheat so easily without being judged...

back in the day miss Britney Spears sold actual albums with the whole world knowing the doesn't sing at all and now if you cant sing you wont sell albums at all but if you do you might just score a #1 with 10K copies  haaaaaaa gotta love the industry

those songs already had 3 million in sales from before when I started tracking at 0

so 12,754,000 +3 million [of WAYN]  = 15.7 million singles from 4 singles so far and as you can see from #10...hes not really stopping.

album sold 3,686,000 copies in past 10 weeks.

I think the way Justin has been so successful this time around show just how ignorant people buying music can be. Considering how shitty he has acted over the past years people should have turned completely off him yet this has been the most successful he has ever been. People have such short memories. The music is below average. The songs all sound the same with him talking bored over a lame dance track. People are ready to lap up anything based on name recognition.
